Building a Better Omaha
This November, Omaha voters will decide two bond questions that City officials have connected to two major community needs: a modern joint Police and Fire headquarters, and completion of the Tranquility Park redevelopment.
Neither bond authorization would require an increase in the City of Omaha property-tax levy.

What Omaha will decide
Two questions. Two community needs.
Public Safety Headquarters
Authorizes general obligation bonds for City public facilities. The City has identified the proposed joint Omaha Police and Fire headquarters as the principal project associated with the authorization.
Parks & Recreation
Authorizes general obligation bonds for park and recreation improvement projects. City officials have identified completion of the Tranquility Park redevelopment as the principal intended use.
Public Safety
There when Omaha needs them.
Omaha asks a great deal of the men and women responsible for keeping our community safe. But the facilities supporting that work have not kept pace. The current Police headquarters dates to 1970 — approximately 112,000 square feet, with ventilation limitations, and regularly tested for asbestos.
The proposed headquarters would bring key Police and Fire administrative and operational functions together for the first time.
Tranquility Park
A place to play at home.
For too many Omaha families, tournament weekends start by leaving Omaha. Sometimes, an Omaha team drives hours away only to play another team from Omaha. Completing Tranquility Park gives more of those families a place to play close to home.
